Решение #1
  1. How are shanty towns started?

Shanty towns usually start when many people move from the countryside to cities, often escaping poverty or conflict, or looking for a better life. Because governments in developing countries often don’t provide enough affordable housing or plan for the growing population, many people end up living in overcrowded, illegal settlements on the outskirts of cities or on unwanted land.

  1. What main problems do people living in shanty towns face?

People in shanty towns face many problems, including:

  • lack of access to basic services
  • high levels of unemployment and poverty
  • malnutrition and child labour
  • overcrowded and unsanitary living conditions
  • pollution and lack of rubbish collection
  • high crime rates and violence

  1. What can be done to improve the situation?

To improve the situation in shanty towns, international agencies, governments, and residents must work together. One important step is providing loans to residents, enabling them to start businesses and earn a decent living. Additionally, governments can officially recognize shanty towns and supply them with essential services such as electricity, clean water, and other amenities. It is also crucial to help communities resolve land disputes so that residents can gain legal ownership of their homes. Furthermore, charities and organizations play a vital role by supporting education, healthcare, and improvements to infrastructure, all of which contribute to better living conditions in these areas.
