Interviewer: Hello, Jasmine. Thank you for agreeing to talk to me. Can you tell us why you left your foster home?

Jasmine: Hi. I left because I wanted to be independent. I felt I needed to make it on my own.

Interviewer: What was it like when you first arrived in London?

Jasmine: It was very hard. I stayed in a cheap B&B for a few nights, but then my money ran out and I had to sleep on a park bench. I felt very alone and scared.

Interviewer: How do you manage to survive on the streets?

Jasmine: I sometimes stay in hostels or squats, but mostly I beg or sell magazines to make ends meet. It’s tough, and many people ignore me.

Interviewer: What do you hope for the future?

Jasmine: I want a place of my own, a home I can call mine. I’m on a waiting list for a flat, and I hope one day I’ll get it.
