Dear Anna,

I just have to tell you about the crazy thing I saw on our expedition! We found a place deep in the jungle where dinosaurs are still alive! Can you believe it?  

We followed some weird tracks through a swamp and then suddenly, there they were – five huge creatures, two adults and three babies. The babies were as big as elephants, and the adults were even bigger! Their skin was kind of grayish and covered in scales like a lizard’s, and it actually sparkled in the sunlight. They balanced on their big tails and huge three-toed feet, pulling down branches with their little front paws.

They looked like giant kangaroos but with skin like crocodiles – totally monstrous! The babies were playing clumsily, hopping around and falling with loud thuds. One of the adults even tried to pull down a whole tree to get some leaves but ended up getting crushed by it and yelped loudly – it was both funny and amazing.

We watched them quietly, hidden so they wouldn’t see us. The professors were like kids, holding hands and smiling like crazy. It was such a magical moment. I still can’t believe it!

I can’t wait to tell you more when I get back. This is going to be the biggest discovery ever!
